EdgeStar Kegerators

EdgeStar KC7000SSTRIP Review

EdgeStar KC7000SSTRIP Kegerator Review

At first sight it looks like a cutting-edge device, and the way it works confirms the assumptions. Here is another high-level model by EdgeStar for a new review.

First, let’s talk about dimensions. The exterior is 34,3” by 23,8” by 23,3”. Quite normal. But the inside is another story: it is roomy enough for all kind of full-sized kegs, even Coors and Miller, and also for three Cornelius or sixth barrel kegs. That’s what I call spacious.

It has digital controls, with a modulable thermostat easy to operate. It does its job pretty well. A forced-air system cools the draft tower to ensure the drink keeps cold from the keg to your glass. It has as an ultimate regulator to provide the proper pressure at any moment.

The components are made of durable stainless steel and aluminum, and setup is quite easy.

It has three taps for three different brews at the same time.

Nice features

  • Great quality, well manufactured
  • Easy operability
  • Forced-air cooling
  • Spacious interior

Not so nice features

  • Not that affordable
  • Quite limited warranty (one year)

If you are looking for a powerful and effective kegerator with outstanding features, here you have it. Forced-air cooling, a frontal vent and an air-cooled beer tower. The beer tower in most units is not cooled. That’s to say, though the beer in the keg is cold, it gets a bit warmer when poured in your mug. But having a cooled draft tower, the beer served by this model will just be as cold as it was inside the keg.

An integrated thermostat gives you the power to reach the low temperature of 32°F. The CO2 tank allows you to keep the pressure required to give the perfect pour, and a CO2 regulator with dual meter for an accurate pressure reading. A durable stainless-steel tower with the exclusive feature of not one or two, but three taps for a faster and more neat pouring, having three types of beer available at a time if desired. The dispenser has a control panel with a screen that displays the temp of the inside of the machine precisely. And a pair of buttons to up or down the temperature as needed. You can see clearly inside the kegerator thanks to a kit of LED lights that illuminates the interior of the appliance and your kegs, without affecting the functionality of the cooling system.

The casing and door are made of durable and tough stainless steel. An awesome aspect of the door is that it is reversible and you can set it up at either left or right as needed. There’s a guard rail on the top of the unit that prevents glasses from falling and a drip tray below the faucets that takes any trailing drop. The internal bottom of the fridge has been strengthened to distribute and endure the weight of the kegs and prevent damages to the floor of the appliance. It includes four roller wheels to move the kegerator around and take it from one point to another.

PROS

  • High cooling capacity
  • A cooled draft tower to keep the temperature of the beer evenly cold from the keg to your mug.
  • The swing of the door can be redirected.
  • The casing and door are made of resistant stainless steel.
  • It has a full dispensing equipment including dual meter, CO2 tank and regulator and so on.
  • The draft tower has three taps, so you can serve three different brews at a time if you wish.
  • There’s a drip tray and a guard rail on top of the appliance.
  • There are LED lights inside the kegerator.
  • A screen on the control panel displays the temperature settings.
  • Comes with wheels for easier mobility and transport.

CONS

  • The design is kind of lame.

From any point of view, this is a cutting-edge device. And the performance lives up to our expectations. It is another upmarket model by EdgeStar.

It has digital settings and a modulable thermostat and ready to use. It quenches the thirst finely.

Moreover, the draft tower is forced air-cooled to keep the beer cold during its travel through the beer line. The controller is conveniently ready at hand allowing you to set temperatures as needed. All parts are made of high-quality stainless-steel and aluminum, so it will provide many years of service.

The EdgeStar KC7000SS kegerator is an elite model. It is usually priced at $1,300. There are three faucets models available. Draft tower is forced air-cooled. That’s to say, you won’t have to throw the first beer pour. It is also the only no-frost model y EdgeStar. Owners of old-fashioned fridges know how annoying it is to clean the frost off the appliance. Comes with resistant rolling wheels. All finish is made of classy stainless steel. This model can be installed or used as a portable kegerator. In general terms, this is the hell of a fine device at a reasonable price.

  • Elegant design with stainless-steel finish
  • Forced-air cooled draft tower to keep the beer’s temperature from rising on its travel.
  • Auto-defrost
  • Resistant wheels for more portability
  • Solid structure
  • Can be installed or used as portable
